Avoid this dealer at all cost, hit and miss part replacement, high mark up on parts

I have a 40Kw Generac that is currently having a problem running. The engine will turn over but after a few seconds cuts out. When I try to restart, keep getting the same issue.
Kelly Generator came out and looked at the problem. Ended up reoplacing the throttle body because the actuator was determined to be stuck closed. Once replaced the unit did start and run. But, a week later since the day of repair the unit will no longer start and is having the same problem it was originally having before the throttle body was replaced.
Talked to Kelly generator and all they had to say was that the looked at the original part and that it "needed" to be replaced. Well, I would say probably not since the unit is exhibiting the same problems it originally has.
So I am out $1010.60 and still no solution. They will be happy to send the tech back out at $125.00 an hour to play "let's change the next part and see if that fixes it".
Avoid this delaer at all cost. You will do a better job buying the parts off the internet and changing them out yourself. Cost will definitely be cheaper! I got a list of the part numbers that was replaced. The markup on the parts was 70% higher over what I could have purchased them for from another dealer on the internet.
AVOID AT ALL COST!!!! Can't say it enough.

We relocated a Generac 250KW from Texas to Mid Atlantic several years ago. Kelly Generator did the install for us. We have had nothing but pleasurable experiences with Kelly Generator since. Kelly Generator, being proactive, would always call us to schedule to our 82 Point Inspections or the 82 Point Inspection with Oil Changes. With everyone doing more these days, this service is very much appreciated. At first I only wanted the one technician who did the install, that way I knew that he knew his stuff. For one of our inspections “my” tech was not available and they needed to send someone else. I was going to wait but that would not fit into my schedule. Well I have to say the next Technician they sent was fabulous. Professional, friendly and he also “knew his stuff”. It turns out that Kelly Generator is Dealer Training Center. No wonder I am such a long standing, satisfied customer of Kelly Generator.
I just moved to the county and I am now looking into getting a whole house standby unit and will only work with Kelly Generator and Equipment. They are great!!!!!

Poor work quality, repeat failure, bad customer relationship

Kelly was hired by my builder to install my generator during construction. So when the generator failed, I called them for service. First they said that my starter was bad and needed to be replaced under warranty. They suggested that I have the annual maintenance done since it was coming up on a year since the install, in which I did. The starter had to be ordered and took 2 weeks to get. In the mean time, I paid $400.00 for the maintenance service. After the starter was replaced, the generator failed again about 4 months later. I again called Kelly and they would not come out to service the generator because they said the builder failed to register my warranty so the repairs were not covered. I owed them another $430.00 for replacing the starter. While trying to resolve this issue between my builder, Generac and Kelly, I got a letter from Kelly’s lawyer telling me to pay the bill or else. I did eventually pay Kelly for installing the starter, however my generator is still not working. I came to the Generac website today to find another service provider and decided to write this review after seeing Kelly listed as one of the preferred service providers. I would not ever use them again!

The service department bill me for work which was never performed. The Kelly tech arrive and attempted to start my generator and said he would be back shortly. The tech never returned and after numerous calls that day, he never returned.
One month later I received a bill for service and the service department made me have to prove that their tech never came back to completed the work he ultimately billed me for.
No, I do not recommend this dealer.

My first mistake was when I trusted Kelly to take care of my generator. We paid $700 a year for maintenance agreement with them and had our generator serviced on August 3, 2011. On August 25,2011, Hurricane Irene hit our area and our generator stopped working. I called Kelly and they REFUSED to come and fix the generator. If they did competent work on the 3rd, our generator would not have needed oil after 10 minutes running time, and then it stopped. They talked to me in an unprofessional way with no compassion or concern for what we were going through. Both my husband and I are on oxygen and I am also on a breathing nebulizer. When I told them of our concern, they told us to go to motel or do what we needed to do, they would not help us. We were customers with them for over 6 years, and still were treated badly. They have never checked back to see if we got our generator working or needed assistance. They said that we lived too far out in the country to assist us. I told them that I needed it for running water because we were in the country, and they didn't mind taking our money when they came out to do the work. Maybe work is NOT the word to use with this company. They don't deserve POOR rating, but it is the lowest I can give.
